Abstract (EN): Ionic liquid 1-ethylpyridinium ethylsulfate, EpyESO4, was synthesized, and its experimental densities, speeds of sound, viscosities, and refractive indices from (298.15 to 343.15) K are reported. Densities, speeds of sound, isentropic compressibility, and dynamic viscosities for EpyESO 4 + ethanol and + l-propanol at temperatures T = (298.15, 313.15, and 328.15) K were determined over the whole composition range at 0.1 MPa. The excess molar volumes, isentropic compressibilities, and viscosity deviations for ethanol (1) + EpyESO4 (2) and l-propanol (1) + EpyESO4 (2) binary systems at the above-mentioned temperatures were calculated and satisfactorily fitted to the Redlich - Kister equation. Refractive indices of the binary mixtures were measured at 298.15 K over the whole composition range. The results were used to calculate deviations in the refractive index. © 2009 American Chemical Society.
