Abstract (EN):
The paper presents a parametric study that was carried out to analyze the influence of reinforcement stiffness, input frequency and modelling of vertical soil-to-face interface on the seismic response of a 9.6 m high geosynthetic-reinforced wall with a stiff continuous facing panel. The two-dimensional explicit dynamic finite difference program FLAC (Fast Lagrangian Analysis of Continua) was used. A preliminary analysis was presented to confirm that FLAC gives similar results to those reported in the literature using finite elements methods. This paper describes the seismic response of a particular reinforced-soil retaining wall subjected to a reference harmonic ground motion. However general results will be published in the future.
