Abstract (EN):
The present work refers to the development and application of a system for the characterization of railway traffic and its effects in bridges. The developed algorithm enables the online determination of speed, geometry and loads per axle of trains. The dynamic measurement system has been applied to a short span railway bridge in the Northern line of the Portuguese railways and enabled to create a database with the characteristics of the real traffic in this line section, as well as an assessment of the dynamic effects induced in the structure.
