Abstract (EN): A displacement transducer and an automatic data logging system were developed in order to enhance the capabilities of a data acquisition system intended for monitoring structures of historical buildings. The transducer is a low-cost, Halleffect device operated in a differential configuration and the data logging system is built around the well-known CAN serial bus. Details on both the transducer and data logger, along with calibration results, are presented.
