Abstract (EN): In Chaps. 1 ¿ 4, the fatigue response of adhesive joints under cyclic loading was discussed in great detail, eventually explaining how a cohesive zone modelling (CZM) can precisely simulate the response of bonded structures. Different CZM shapes were introduced and their constitutive laws, their advantages, and their possible limitations were pointed out. It was also discussed that using CZM concepts, the fatigue response of bonded joints can be simulated. Different strategies in fatigue life analysis of adhesive joints using CZM based models were reviewed in Chap. 4. In this chapter a summary of all these discussions besides a conclusion are presented. Considering the points mentioned in Chaps. 1 ¿ 4, it was shown that it is possible to accurately estimate the fatigue life of bonded joints using CZM based approaches if the problems are accurately defined using precise material properties and by choosing appropriate fatigue model and settings in FE programs. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
