Abstract (EN): he overtopping phenomena and the stability of the rubble mound blocks are two of the main problems of port structures protected by breakwaters. On the north breakwater of the Leixões Harbour, the inner area shelters an oil terminal, the berth A, in which the safety measures are high and sometimes limited the oil terminal operations. Looking for an improvement on the operational conditions of the oil terminal of Leixões, by reducing the overtopping during the year, a 2D model was built to be tested on the wave tank of the faculty of Engineering of the Porto University (FEUP).
