Abstract (EN): The research presented in this work addresses the application of multi criteria hybrid meta-heuristics to the territories alignment problem (TAP). The TAP is part of a bigger procedure: the territories project, that consists of assigning small geographical areas to larger areas, following the most relevant criteria for planning. The territories project has potential application in several areas, for instance, the establishment of political districts (electoral), areas of schools, trash collection, social services (health centers, hospitals, etc.), emergency services, sales and distribution of products and maintenance teams. In this paper, we describe the context of this research, present its scope and relevance and outline its main objectives.
