Abstract (EN):
The paper describes improvements made to a previously
described infrastructure for run-time-reconfigurable applications on platform FPGAs. A DMA-based solution is
used to reduce reconfiguration time and significantly improve data communication between CPU and dynamicallyreconfigurable logic. The module assembly tool is improved to perform restricted link-time routing between
components, and thereby loosen the constraints on component placement within the dynamically reconfigurable area. Measurements for several simple case studies from image processing applications are presented to quantify the achieved performance improvements.
