Abstract (EN): The authors regret that the numbering of Figs. 5, 6, and 7 was incorrect in the initial version of the published article. Fig. 5 should be read Fig. 7, Fig. 6 should be read Fig. 5 and Fig. 7 should be read Fig. 6. In addition, the legend of Fig. 7 was missing. The legend of Fig. 7 should be the following: Fig. 7. Fibrin functionalization with T1 peptide led to a significant increase in the number of newly formed vessels after implantation on the top of the chicken chorioallantoic membrane (CAM). (A) Stereomicroscope images of excised CAMs representative of the two conditions tested pairwise, three days after inoculation; newly formed blood vessels (<20 ¿m in diameter) and pre-existing ones are denoted by white and black squares, respectively; the remaining Fb hydrogel is identified by asterisks; optical denser regions were also detected (identified by a circle) mainly in CAMs with unmodified Fb (Unm. Fb), and were correlated to an inflammatory reaction; magnification: 20×. (B) Number of newly formed vessels, as determined by analysis of macroscopic images of the CAM inoculation site; results of 17 pairs from three independent experiments are shown. (C) Inflammatory score analysis made on macroscopic images of excised CAMs; score 1 was attributed when inflammation was higher than in the counterpart ring area; score 0 was assigned when inflammation was absent or lower than in the counterpart ring; graphs denote results of 26 pairs from three independent experiments. (D) Representative images of tissue sections processed for H&E staining; asterisks indicate Fb hydrogel remains and black arrows denote blood vessels; an inflammatory response characterized by dilation of the CAM and recruitment of immune system precursor cells was also observed, mainly in CAMs with Unm. Fb; magnification: 100× (upper images) and 200× (lower images). (E) Inflammatory score analysis made in micrographs of H&E stained sections; graphs depict results of 21 pairs from three independent experiments.
