Abstract (EN):
This paper focuses on the study of the dynamic effects induced by abrupt changes in track stiffness. To perform these studies, two numerical analysis programs were used: FEMIX, a finite element program developed at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, and the commercial program ANSYS. Both of these computing tools enabled to properly model the track, the train and to take into account the dynamic interaction between the two structures. The application for the dynamic analysis of the passage of the ICE2 train through a track stiffness transition induced by deformability moduli ratios of the foundation soils equal to 2, 5 and 10 has revealed an excellent agreement of the results provided by the two programs.
