Abstract (EN): This paper describes a method for automaticallyassessing the qualityof manufactured roof-tiles using digital audio signal processing and pattern recognition techniques. A prototype system has been developed that is based on a mixed PC/DSP platform, where the real-time constraint is one of the main keyissues. The suitabilityof the classification process for implementation in an industrial environment is also addressed.
