Abstract (EN):
In this paper, we consider the problem of controlling an nD system by means of a feedback connection. First, we characterize the system interconnections that can be implemented as feedback connections by means of a suitable choice of input/output structures. Then, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for the possibility of obtaining a desired control performance B-d subset of B from a given nD behavior B by a feedback connection with a suitable controller in case both the input/output structures of B and B-d are a priori imposed. Our results generalize those obtained in Willems (IEEE Trans. Automat. Control 42(4) (1997) 458) for the 1D case.
