Abstract (EN):
The use of adhesive bonding is often an energy-intensive process, especially during the manufacturing and curing processes, which leads to the generation of CO2. In addition, further emissions of greenhouse gases might occur when disposing and burning adhesives at the end of life of a bonded structure. Within the current context, these are undesirable factors that limit the sustainability of this joining technology. Nonetheless, diverse possibilities exist for improving adhesive bonding procedures and drastically reduce their contribution to a global climatic change. For example, the use of lower-curing temperatures, complete recycling of adhesives, and the application of carbon-neutral materials are all methods that have recently gained importance.
