Abstract (EN):
Microtubule attachments to kinetochores cause their deformation - a murky phenomenon known as intrakinetochore stretching. A new study proposes that intra-kinetochore stretching is independent of microtubule-pulling forces and mediates efficient spindle assembly checkpoint silencing to prevent chromosomal instability.
