Resumo (PT):
The use of X-Window as a graphical driver will make the applications programs independent of the hardware.
Two programs previously used on different platforms, a CAD-2D for personal computers and a pre and post processing for Finite Element Method used on a minicomputer, where reformulated to run under X-Window. During this process, the two programs where merged in order to provide an integrated tool for CAD/CAE, to generate finite element meshes and post processing the results of analysis. This program will be used in the Finite Element courses, at undergraduate level, in the department of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Management of the Faculty of Engineering University of Oporto.
