Abstract (EN): Traditionally in Portugal, injury benefits are awarded as a function of the organ injured using methods designed to maintain social equilibrium and occupational rights. The notion of bodily injury has, however, evolved in parallel with the notion of disability and injury benefits have become more involved in the consequences of body and personal function, together with the subjectivity of the injury and its consequences in terms of lifestyle. For this purpose, we use a pluridisciplinary evaluation tool called handitest, which enables a better application of the notion of equal rights in a situation of inequality.
