Resumo (PT):
Lubricated block on ring wear tests of powder metallurgy (PM) particle reinforced 6061 aluminium composites, against steel, show an improved wear resistance when compared to the unreinforced matrix
The influence of different material parameters, such as - reinforcement type (SiC or alumina) reinforcement volume fraction (10, 15 and 20 %), ageing condition and intensity of the forging process - in the tribological behaviour of metal matrix composites have been studied. Wear rate and coefficient of friction results are presented and discussed.
