Abstract (EN):
The authors present the case report of a 39-year-old man, previously treated by a Heller's myotomy, suffering from a relapse of achalasia. He was submitted to a gastroesophageal resection and pathological analysis of the surgical specimen revealed Schistosoma haematobium in the mucosa and submucosa of the esophagus. A postoperative biopsy of the bladder confirmed the organism's presence in a more usual location. The patient was treated with Praziquantel and has since then remained asymptomatic.
