Abstract (EN):
Autonomous agents have been an important area of research in the last years, both in virtual
environments and in equipment aim to the real world. Most ending applications require not
only a great autonomy, but also the ability of directing each autonomous agent.
In this paper, we discuss the problem of building animated autonomous agents for interactive
virtual environments. We present a strategy for the conception of autonomous agents that
allows an extern entity to direct each autonomous agent at multiple levels. We also present the
experimental development of an autonomous driver of vehicles aimed to a realistic driving
simulator.
The virtual driver still in development allows the simulation of ambient traffic in a realistic
driving simulator. It can be parameterized to model characteristics of the driver such as the
impatience, the aggressiveness, the attentiveness etc…
