Resumo (PT): Distribution transformers have always been dried within ovens heated for the effect. Obviously, the efficiency on the drying process is low and the time required for the task is hardly long and dependent upon the transformer volume. The new approach presented in this paper eliminates all these constraints. The process is based in the transformer's windings direct heating. The mean winding's temperature is measured and controlled during all the process. This paper shows the design, implementation and results with a high performance controller for this process.
Abstract (EN): Distribution transformers have always been dried within ovens heated for the effect.
