Abstract (EN):
Numerical simulations of a RC tested frame were performed using a flexibility based global element model accounting for progressive stiffness modifications. Non-linear behaviour is ruled by a section model and some fixed and moving control sections are used to update the element stiffness. Comparison of numerical and experimental results helped on assessing the model adequacy to describe the structural behaviour and elicited some comments on the use of viscous damping to account for energy dissipation capacity.
