Paper de apresentação da tese de doutoramento após publicação e defesa em 1996
Abstract (EN):
Integrated in my PH'd Thesis research program and with the support of a portuguese firm that builds prefabricated wood houses based on wood components I designed and developed a lightweight partition system.
Almost all the existing portuguese prefabrication systems for wood houses don't meet the actual national acoustic regulations. That was the case of the partition system of the prefabricated wood house produced by the firm that supported the research . As a result of this problem the firm could not get the homologation renewal for its system .
The purpose of this paper is to describe in very general terms the research that was carried out to find an economical solution to that problem.
The paper consists mainly of a general description of the system that was designed and of the experimental work that was done in LNEC - Lisbon to evaluate the performance of a prototype that was specially produced for that purpose . The major conclusions and results of the research program are presented .
The research was done during 1994 and 1995 .The PH'd thesis was submited to FEUP in April 1996 and presented with success in October 1996 .The Portuguese firm that supported the research got the homologation renewal in May 1997.
