Abstract (EN):
This paper describes an MPEG2 TV studio architecture that is being adopted within the ATLANTIC (Advanced Television at Low bit rates And Networked Transmission over Integrated Communications systems) Project. This is an European Project approved by the ACTS (Advanced Communication Technologies and Services) program.
The main features are that all TV signals in the studio are in MPEG2 and that all equipment is interconnected by an ATM architecture network.
The project main goals are to develop components and techniques that will provide functionality for the production and distribution of TV programmes on an MPEG2 format. This project complies the specifications issued by the Digital Audio Visual Council (DAVIC).
