O Emblemático Pessoa: uma perspetiva de Norbert Elias aplicada à obra de Fernando Pessoa, com recurso à "Teoria Simbólica"

Resumo (PT): A arte invoca o simbólico sempre que se considera as representações dos indivíduos aliadas às suas ações na vida quotidiana. No âmbito dos significados artísticos que circulam na elaboração e nas interpretações dos diversos tipos de obras culturais, as funções da linguagem – enquanto estrutura discursiva e escrita – configuram o formato e a força da comunicação entre os atores sociais. Neste ensaio, a importância da linguagem e dos símbolos linguísticos surge patente na obra do sociólogo Norbert Elias Teoria Simbólica, que se pode articular com a lírica e a poesia épica de Fernando Pessoa. A ortonímia e a heteronímia do poeta, encaradas como objeto de análise artística, são contributivas, de forma crucial, para a eliminação dos dualismos que muito têm impossibilitado uma conceção mais integrada e, portanto, mais rigorosa e abrangente das relações sociais e dos seus processos envolventes. A metodologia deste paper consiste, numa primeira fase, num estudo crítico da teoria e do livro sobredito de Elias, conjugado numa etapa posterior com a avaliação comparativa da relação entre a ciência de Elias e a literatura de Pessoa. Os resultados evidenciam que uma sociologia aberta e inclusiva pode e deve compreender, no intuito do desenvolvimento sociológico na contemporaneidade, a relevância da componente artística (em específico, da poesia e dos seus símbolos linguísticos) na progressão da ciência e na compreensão do real-social, bem como necessita de se pronunciar acerca de uma forma de suplantação dos obstáculos à ligação entre a ciência e a arte.

Abstract (EN): The art invokes the symbolic whenever one considers the individuals representations of allied to their actions in daily life. Within the scope of the artistic meanings that circulate in the elaboration and interpretations of the different types of cultural works, the functions of the language – as a discursive and written structure – configure the format and the force of the communication between the social actors. In this essay, the importance of language and linguistic symbols is evident in the sociologist Norbert Elias’s work Symbolic Theory, which can be articulated with the lyric and epic poetry of Fernando Pessoa. The orthonimia and the heteronymy of the poet, considered as an object of artistic analysis, are crucially contributory to the elimination of the dualisms that have very much prevented a more integrated and therefore more rigorous and comprehensive conception of social relations and their surrounding processes. The methodology of this report consists, in a first stage, in a critical study of Elias' theory and book, which is conjugated in a later stage with the comparative evaluation of the relationship between the science of Elias and the literature of Pessoa. The results show that an open and inclusive sociology can and should understand the relevance of the artistic component (specifically, poetry and its linguistic symbols) in the progression of science and in the understanding of the social-real, as well as needs to speak about a way of overcoming obstacles to the link between science and art.
