Resumo (PT): Luise Ey publicou inúmeras gramáticas de teor prático dirigidas a aprendentes adultos de português como L2 no início do séc. XX na Alemanha. Herdeira da tradição humboldtiana e do movimento reformista no ensino de línguas na Europa do séc. XIX, esta autora, residente no Porto, Portugal, por vários anos, surge como uma interveniente importante no processo de ensino do português L2 da época por preconizar uma abordagem prática ao ensino e ao uso da língua, evidenciando para isso o papel da fonética na sua Portuguese Conversation-Grammar de 1912.

Abstract (EN): Luise Ey published several practical grammars that were aimed at adult learners of Portuguese as a L2 in early 20th century Germany. Having inherited the humboldtian tradition and the reform movement in language teaching in 19th century Europe, the author, who was also a resident in Porto, Portugal, for years, is an important stakeholder in the Portuguese as a L2 teaching process due to her practical approach to teaching and to language use. Hence the weight she has given to phonetics in her Portuguese Conversation-Grammar, published in 1912.
