Resumo (PT): O presente invento diz respeito a um dispositivo para a medição e análise da cor do ouvido médio e do canal auditivo. Este dispositivo permite a medição automática da cor do ouvido médio dos pacientes e pretende ser um equipamento auxiliar do profissional de saúde no diagnóstico de otites. O dispositivo é composto por um otoscópio standard (1), modificado de modo a incluir duas fibras ópticas (2a e 2b): uma que ilumina o ouvido e a outra que retorna a luz reflectida. A unidade electrónica (3) permite variar linearmente a potência da luz emitida, bem assim como a sua de cor (pela combinação das intensidade de verde, azul e vermelho). A luz recebida é igualmente medida, de forma separada, nas mesmas três componentes, permitindo assim determinar alterações de cor e textura, normalmente associadas às inflamações do ouvido. Os botões de comando dispostos no punho do otoscópio (4) permitem ao utilizador guardar os valores das três componentes da cor. O valor combinado das componentes é afixado no mostrador digital (5) da unidade electrónica, bem assim como por um conjunto de leds (6) verde, amarelo e vermelho que dão duma forma simples e imediata o diagnóstico. Permite, simultaneamente, a visualização directa do ouvido por meio de uma lente (7) aplicada na cabeça do otoscópio, bem assim com a iluminação standard com luz branca. Este dispositivo será útil sempre que seja necessária a avaliação da cor, particularmente nas áreas de medicina, veterinária e indústria alimentar.

Abstract (EN): The present invention concerns a device for measurement and analysis of the middle ear and ear channel colour. This device allows thus automatic patient middle ear colour measurement and intends to be auxiliary equipment for health professionals in the diagnosis of ear infections. The device is composed of a standard otoscope (1), modified to include two optical fiber (2a and 2b): one for ear illumination and another which returns the reflected light. The electronic unit (3) can change linearly the power of emitted light, as well as, its colour (by combining the intensity of green, blue and red). The received light is also independently measure, according to the three components, thus enabling the determination of changes on colour and texture, normally associated with the ear inflammations. Command buttons in the otoscope handler (4) enable the user to save the values of the three colour components. The combined value of the components is shown in the digital display (5) of the electronic unit, as well as, by a set of LEDs (6) green, yellow and red that gives a diagnosis in a simple and immediate way. The otoscope allows, simultaneously, directly ear view through a magnifying glass (7) applied in the head of the otoscope, with a standard white light. This device is useful when it is necessary to evaluate the colour, particularly in the areas of medicine, veterinary and food industry.
