Abstract (EN): These notes were written as a support for a short course on Measure Theory given by Maria do Rosário de Pinho at Lab I2002, Department of Electrical Engineering Department, Faculdade de Engenharia, University of Porto in June–July 2011. The course was primarily designed for PhD students under the supervision of researchers of the group Control, Estimation and Optimization (CEO) of the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT) research unit Instituto de Sistemas e Robótica (ISR) 147. The PhD students who attended this course were Md. Haider Ali Biswas (a second year PhD student of PDEEC with grant SFRH/BD/63707/2009), Igor Kornienko (Fellow, European Commission FP7-PEOPLE-2010-ITN, N. 264735-SADCO), Ana Filipa Ribeiro (PhD student of PMAT), Ian Marsh (post-doc, FCT Grant). Also three bright 2nd year undergraduate students of the Electrical Engineering Integrated Master (MIEEC) of Faculdade de Engenharia were active participants of this course: Diogo Henrique Cabral, Diogo André Lopes and Pedro Sabino Rocha.
