Abstract (EN):
Finite Element Method (FEM) and Radial Point Interpolation Method (RPIM) are numerical techniques that can be used to study haemodynamics. Cardiovascular diseases cause 15 million deaths per year so, the development of strategies to study these diseases is essential. The purpose of this work is to compare the velocity profile of a discretized model of a tubular straight artery, using the methods FEM and RPIM. To perform this analysis, FEMAS software was used and it was possible to conclude that RPIM is preferable since it presents a more uniform velocity profile, which is more suitable for this type of analysis.
