Abstract (EN):
The usage of energy-efficient means of transportation is a grown topic nowadays. It is of great interest the knowledge of a detailed energy consumption in railways, combined with decision support systems that promote the adaptation of the railway operation to a better energy usage. The objective of this work is to present a multi-vehicle simulator that generates the knowledge of the track utilization and the energy consumption/generation. This simulator uses a heuristic methodology to estimate the train dynamics, in particular the train speed profile. The results of the train simulator are compared with a dataset of a real case study train. This train simulator will be capable to simulate the vehicle dynamics and energy consumption for an entire journey. By including the results for several train journeys it is possible to obtain a multi-train simulator with accurate estimation of the dynamics of each train, as well as the energy consumption, to the global railway system.
