Abstract (EN):
This work evaluates the micro hot-embossing feedstocks composed of AISI 316L powder mixed with multi walled carbon nanotubes. This nano additive affects the dispersion of feedstock constituents, the replicability, shrinkage and the topography of green and sintered samples. Replicability is affected by the geometry of the sample and by the feedstock composition. Replicability of micro hot-embossed samples is more influenced by the die rigidity than the rheological properties of the feedstock. Green samples composed of feedstock with solid contents greater than critical volume powder concentration is produced in rigid die even at smaller processing conditions (temperature and holding time). Elastomer die gives higher productivity during demoulding step; however, green samples made in elastomer die are not as reproducible as the samples made in rigid die. Surface roughness of sintered samples is similar to the roughness of the elastomer die. Shrinkage of micro features, after sintering, is influenced by the composition. © 2017 European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA).
