Abstract (EN):
This paper aims at presenting a numerical study considering the effect of oxygen concentration varied from 21% (v/v) to 40% (v/v), moisture level and steam to biomass ratio on the production of H2 enriched syngas obtained by the gasification of biomass pine residues. H2 enriched syngas is particularly suitable to feed solide oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). Biomass-fuelled integrated SOFCs offer the potential of highly efficient and renewable power generation in an environmentally friendly manner. The study was carried out considering a thermodynamic model developed using the Matlab program. The equilibrium model was developed considering the concept of carbon boundary point (CBP). The CBP is obtained when exactly enough gasifying medium is added to avoid carbon formation and achieve complete gasification which is particular important because the SOFCs are very sensitive to the carbon formation. From the numerical simulation, it was observed that the hydrogen content increases with the steam o biomass ratio, the moisture level and decreases with the oxygen content.
