Abstract (EN): This work presents the universal base of a tower testing station that is being developed in Portugal (Trofa, Porto). As one of most important elements of the tower testing station, the universal base is addressed in this work. The paper, describes with appropriate detail, the conception stage (geometry definition), the types of structures that can be tested and the conditions that should be respected during the test. The actual geotechnical condition of the site, demanded soil-structure interactions analysis for a more real assessment of the structural behaviour of the universal base, in this paper all this issues are explained.
