Abstract (EN): This paper discusses the experimental characterisation of the constituent materials of existing cases of railway bridges in stone masonry. The study comprises two railway bridges, an overpass in Durrães and a culvert in São Pedro da Torre, both located in the Minho railway line. The experimental campaign comprises in situ tests, like DPSH test, georadar testing techniques, pressuremeter testing (PMT), flat-jack testing, and laboratory tests on representative samples of the constituent materials taken from the bridges. © 2016 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
