Abstract (EN):
A four degree of freedom lumped mass gear dynamics model accounting for time varying mesh stiffness, friction (constant and local CoF) and damping is presented. The differential equations of motion were deduced from the Principle of Least Action. The aim of this work is to take advantage of a simplified gear dynamics model for spur and helical gears to evaluate the dynamic effects in gear load, friction and ultimately power loss for different gear geometries at different operating conditions, using two distinct coefficient of friction formulations.
