Abstract (EN): This paper aims at identifying suitable approaches for the numerical modelling of stone masonry arch bridges with the purpose of estimating the traffic effects by means of moving loads and taking in account the surface roughness of the pavement. Three Portuguese cases were studied, namely, two ancient bridges located near Porto and a recently build stone masonry bridge near Guimardes that was instrumented for structural behaviour monitoring during construction and service life. However, in this paper only one case is addressed.
