Abstract (EN):
The nuclear bodies of 6 human papillary thyroid carcinomas were studied. All tumors had numerous nuclear bodies. In 4 tumors, some of the nuclear bodies were similar to small nucleoli with a filamentous cortex. Other nuclear bodies resembled ring shaped nucleoli and nucleoli with segregation of their components. The nucleoli often appeared compact and rarely contained fibrillar centers. These findings support the concept of the nucleolar origin of these nuclear bodies and raise the possibility of the interference in these tumors of an 'inductor' acting on the nucleolus.
