Abstract (EN): Despite the increasing automation of industrial processes, the manual handling remains a major cause of work related MSDs. This paper presents an ergonomic study of a workstation in a filling line of a paints and varnishes production plant which involves manual handling. It aimed to assess the risk of MSDs that workers are exposed to. Four methods were used: EEPP (TM) (Energy Expenditure Prediction Program), revised NIOSH Lifting Equation (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health), REBA (Rapid Entire Body Assessment) and QEC (Quick Exposure Check). The risk of work-related MSD was identified and some corrective measures for their mitigation were proposed.
