Abstract (EN):
We assess the numerical performance of a parallel version of the SIMPLE algorithm for incompressible fluid flow. The two-dimensional laminar flow inside a lid driven cavity was used as the test case. The results of sequential and parallel version of the algorithm obtained on an SGI Power Challenge (4 processors) and a Dual-Pentium (2 processors) were discussed. We found that the speed-up of fluid flow calculations with Re = 100 about 1.5 for the parallel computation with 2 sub-domains and 2.4 in case of 4 sub-domains.
