Abstract (EN):
Hyperbaric medicine has a large field of applicability and is increasingly used as a therapeutic resource. Its field of action is not limited to treat decompression sickness, but was enlarged to all the diseases in which an increase in the amount of dissolved oxygen in the blood has beneficial effects. With this extension has emerged a new class of professionals, the attendents, accompanying the sick people within the hyperbaric chamber, which are now, they own, object of study. This work attempts to give an image of decompression sickness, in particular in attendents and identify the research developed to describe the effect of O-2 in decompressive phase. Although in decompressive phase the use of O2 be standard practice, in the research carried out were not found conclusive studies on this subject. It follows the need for further research and development work, methodologically consistent in order to answer questions and troubleshooting.
