Abstract (EN):
In a previous paper, we have defined the class of order-independence algebras, which includes chains and finite Boolean algebras as special cases. In this paper we prove that every non-invertible order-preserving endomorphism of an order-independence algebra of finite rank is a product of idempotents. This provides a common generalisation of the results of Aizenstat and Howie for finite chains and Magill for finite Boolean algebras.
