Abstract (EN):
In metalworking the noise has been always identified as one of existing hazards, originating the need to evaluate and quantify the associated risk. Records of noise assessments were collected in the company, a questionnaire was applied to all workers and audiometric exams were done. It was performed an additional analysis through surveys workers to try to relate the dependent variables audiometric with the independent variables sound level, duration of exposure to noise at workplace and workers' age. It was intended to study the hearing losses in workers potentially exposed to occupational high noise and check the existence of a correlation between this losses, age and exposure to noise. It is expected to obtain a better perception of the noise control measures and techniques to try to lessen the exposure of workers to excessive noise. This work was focused on a population of 36 individuals, only those ones exposed to noise levels greater than 85 dB (A).
