Resumo (PT): Os sistemas de ultrassonografia permitem investigar as condições hemodinâmicas da bifurcação carotídea. Neste trabalho as imagens de ultrassonografia das carótidas são analisadas exaustivamente permitindo a utilização de uma metodologia de redes neuronais artificiais capaz de simular o fluxo nas artérias carótidas ao longo do eixo carotídeo. A metodologia enquadra-se na pesquisa de parâmetros objetivos capazes de separar comportamentos hemodinâmicos diferentes para diversos graus de severidade da doença carotídea.
