Abstract (EN):
The restructuring of power systems originated the increase of the number of participating entities in the generation and retailing activities. Therefore, it is important to develop models to simulate electricity markets in the presence of a variety of agents. Among them generation agents having a large share of hydro stations are crucial given the revenues they can obtain with the adequate operation of these stations. This paper describes an agent based model of the day-ahead market focusing on hydro generation. This paper details the global structure of the model, the model of the hydro generation stations and how the water value concept can help generation agents to bid in electricity markets.
