Summary: |
SKILLED ART is a project on interface research and development and associated strategies for the creation and maintenance of transdisciplinary communities of knowledge. Telematic communication between physical spaces, for virtual interaction in the context of E-Learning, is its main focus.
Human-computer interfaces will be developed targeting telematic human-human and human-avatar interactions. The project has three phases: Computer Vision, Bio-Electromagnetism and Integration. The first focus on multi-user interactive systems, the second on telematic transmission of sensations and the third will merge both techniques.
Strategies will be developed to join students coming from different disciplines in order to create new transdisciplinary knowledge. This strategies will be applied and developed in actions/tests by ARTSHARE at the E-Leaning Café, U.P., and at the mobile platform E-Learning Nomad, U.A.. This mobile platform and the telematic communication between both platforms are to be developed by actions of the project here presented. A manual of good practices will congregate the results of these experiences.
The results of the SKILLED ART project have applications in all areas were telematic interaction between physical groups of people is or might be involved.
The Planetary Collegium, the international strategic partner, will provide most of the means for the promotion and communication of the new knowledge acquired. |
