Acess Requirements - To have successfully concluded the 12th form and to have completed the national specific examinations (two among the followings: Portuguese, Philosophy and History)

Profissional Status Advocacy (previous application in the Bar Association and a training course are necessary), Registers and Notary (Previous application in Directorate-General for Registers and Notary and a training course are necessary), Judgeship (Previous admission examination at the Legal Studies Centre and a training course are necessary), Diplomacy (application in Ministry for Foreign Affairs is necessary), Criminal Investigation Department, Public Administration Advanced Technician, Jurisconsult (for corporations support), University Career.

Program Requirements The curricular plan of the degree in Law covers the strategic areas considered fundamental to train qualified professionals for the exercise of the many legal professions. The study consists of a total of 30 courses. It is compulsory to attend to 29 of those courses and the last one is semestrial and optional. Of these 30 courses, that compose the curricular plan, 15 are annual and the rest are semestrial. The teaching is ministered in 3 theoretical and 2 practical classes per week, by each course. Evaluation system: evaluation is made, according with the student¿s option, by a final exam, or evaluation with release from final exam or also continuous assessment. On the annual courses it is necessarily defined an evaluation system with release from final exam. The adoption of this system is optional in the semestrial courses. Each one of these systems may still include an oral exam. There are 2 final exam seasons: normal season and appeal season.

Acess to further study The first degree gives access to postgraduate courses, namely to the postgraduate course in Local Autarchies Law and the postgraduate course in Tax Law, having both courses the duration of a year divided in two semesters. The first degree, as long as it is concluded with a minimum grade of 14, also gives access to Master courses, namely the Master in Criminology. May also be admitted graduates with inferior grades, whose professional, academic and scientific profile is considered adequate by the Master Course Coordination Commission, after curricular evaluation. Graduates with a minimum grade of 16 may still apply for the degree of Doctor.
