Provide an acquisition of knowledge and skills to prepare future graduates in Criminology to act correctly and appropriately when confronted in their professional lives with issues related to the production of expert evidence in the fiels forensic sciences so as to contribute to the effective administration of justice.
Sensitize future criminologists to prevent violence and to promote the procedural status of victims.
Provide guidance on the conduct of individuals involved in procedural and respect of specific cases in order to link the trans fundamentalresolution of these cases.

As this curricular unit is concluded, students should be able to identify the different areas of forensic sciences and master its main concepts and procedures.
We will focus on the competences related to legal medicine and to diverse areas of forensic sciences.Syllabus:

Intervention of Forensic Services in the justice system. Business expertise. System of medical-legal and forensic and their probative value.
The medical and legal experts in criminal proceedings and their added value.
Forensic Thanatology. Verification and certification of death.Investigation of cause of death. Forensic autopsy. Homicide, suicide and accident, the differential diagnosis. Sudden Death.

The integration of concepts taught during the classes will be crucial for the successful embedment of knowledge
acquired during this curricular unit, as the teaching method is focused on the students to explore and develop their skills, aimed at deepening the knowledge acquired, namely through the teachers lessons, encouraging student participation in the discussion of subjects taught.
