Objectives
To give the theoretical and practical knowledge to:
- Understand the issues of security resultant from the contemporary crisis of the modern state and its consequences;
- Identify the new areas of security to the global and local levels and the changes occurred in territory.
- Recognize and define public security policies (PSP)
- Describe the PSP’s cycle and analyze each of its elements.
- Distinguish the actors of the PSP and their roles
- Relate dynamically the available resources in the security policies and their availability and use by the actors
- Understand the evaluation mechanisms of the PSP and its importance and usefulness
- Critically analyze the current trends on security to global and local level.
Learning outcomes and competences
In continuity with Security Issues I, the student should be able to acquire, from a critical view, theoretical and practical Knowledge to:
- Understand the issues of security resultant from the contemporary crisis of the modern state and its consequences;
- Identify the new areas of security to the global and local levels and the changes occurred in territory.
- Recognize and define public security policies (PSP)
- Describe the PSP’s cycle and analyze each of its elements.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Concerning the teaching methodologies, there are theoretical classes for the contents presentation combined with the tutorial supervision. We highlight the working groups, focusing on the analysis and discussion of the topics foreseen in the curriculum from scientific papers and other documental sources previously prepared by each student. In the works development are also included elements
that allow a direct contact to the relevant contexts of the domain (TC hours).
