Objectives

Provide students with the essential framework of the material, including the theoretical and dogmatic foundations of the various institutes, and to provide a detailed analysis of Portuguese law.
It is hoped that the combination of theoretical and practical classes will provide the students with a complete and harmonious training to help them in their future professional careers.

INTRODUCTION

TITLE I
EVIDENCE

CHAPTER I - Introduction. Approach to the problem of Evidence in Right. General principles of the Evidence in Criminal Procedure.
CHAPTER II - Legal discipline of the probatory procedure.
CHAPTER III - Evidences and means of obtaining evidences. Analysis of the positive law.

TITLE II
PROCEDURAL ACTS

CHAPTER I - The procedural acts. The form of the acts. The communication of the acts.
CHAPTER II - The negative qualities of the procedural acts. The problem of the inexistence of the acts. The procedural nullities. The procedural irregularities.

TITLE III
«COERCION MEASURES» AND POSTING BAIL

CHAPTER I - General discipline of the «coercion measures» and posting bail. Common requirements. Fundamental Principles.
CHAPTER II - The «coercion measures» in particular. General characterization. The «coercion measures» allowed in the current CPP. Means to contest the measures.
CHAPTER III - The posting bail in particular. General characterization. Analysis of the positive law.
