Abstract (EN): This study aims to identify the Portuguese curricular contents related to the theme ¿Education for Health¿, focusing on the 1st and 2nd cycles of Basic Education. The research question is: which areas of health are being addressed in Portuguese curriculum documents? For this purpose, a document analysis was carried out focusing on the Portuguese curriculum documents concerning the Essential Learning (2018 and 2021) of all curriculum areas (47 documents). The document analysis method involves skimming (superficial examination), reading (thorough examination), and interpretation. The results indicate the presence of Education for Health in Portuguese curriculum documents, but without interconnecting the different areas of knowledge and with little exploration of certain categories defined in international documents guiding Health Education. Consequently, it seems that Portugal considers Health Education as an integral part of the curriculum, but it can still improve the approach and distribution of its areas. © 2023 Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Instituto de Fisica.
