Objectives

Developing a research project in the PhD area, to be written as a scientific paper.

Collect, analyze and interpret the results of a scientific investigation.

Minimum scientific knowledge at the undergraduate level in a specific area of the doctoral program.

The syllabus should be coherent with the student’s chosen theme and accepted by the tutor.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Analysis of scientific papers and other relevant reading; also, if necessary, data gathering and analysis. Students are encouraged to present their papers in specialized publications and/or conferences. T

The evaluation of the student’s work is carried out by a jury, consisting of the tutor, eventually a co­tutor and another FCUP teacher or researcher, previously appointed by the PhD’s Scientific Commission, in the occasion of the Work Plan approval.
